HISTORY
The Belvidere, NJ Goblin Market began in October 2022, in Butler Park and was organized by LisaBeth Klein. It started with a few dozen tents drawing vendors from the tristate area.
The second market was held on June 29, 2024 at Hardwick Street in Belvidere. It advertised pride month, drag story hour, queer creativity, rebel magic, joyful rebellion, among other bizarre themes.
The third and last market on Oct 19, 2025 held at Belvidere High School, seems to have brought about the most controversy yet. Protestors showed up Friday prior to the event, the day of the event and at the Oct 14, 2025 Town Council meeting and Oct 27, 2025 Board of Education meeting. Concerns ranging from young children being lured into drag story time and enticed to carry gay pride flags to vulgar artwork being displayed, and even sold, where innocent children are present. All on the school grounds being paid for with our taxpayer dollars.
Chip O'Chang, fiction writer, would have you believe these Goblin Markets depict an innocent, fun, fairy tale time filled with glitter, rainbows and toadstools. We are here to report the reality of what these markets are spreading in our neighborhood. When you click on the link to photo's, ADULT CONTENT/DISCRETION ADVISED, you will see actual pictures taken from vender tables setup at Belvidere High School on October 19, 2025. These are verified first-hand accounts from October 19th. It is the stage our taxpayer dollars paid for.
Listen, we believe in free speech. You have a right to think that witchery, using crystals and charms, introducing children to gay pride and drag, is good, moral and guiltless. JUST DON'T DO IT IN OUR SCHOOLS OR IN OUR NEIGHBORHOODS!
